Dr. James Armstrong BSc, MBA, DMD

Dr. Armstrong is a 1985 graduate from the Faculty of dentistry at UBC. He is the managing doctor for the group and enjoys teaching and research in addition to clinical dentistry. He has taught dental students and post graduate dentists at both the University of British Columbia and Simon Fraser University as an Adjunct Professor. He has continued his training for the past 14 years in the Western Aesthetic Restorative Seminars located in Vancouver. He currently serves as a contributing editor for the Canadian Dental Association’s Journal “ The Communiqué” and is a Board of director for the BC dentist’s provincial body, the Association of Dental Surgeons of British Columbia. His research interests are dental ethics and oral diagnosis. When he has free time, it is spent with family, fishing or skiing.

Dr. Scott Merkley, DDS

Dr. Scott Merkley was born and raised in Thunder Bay, Ontario, but fell in love with BC at an early age. After graduating dental school, in 1994 from the University of Western Ontario, he worked in Southern Ontario, eventually finding his way to BC in 2002.  He is an accomplished family and cosmetic dentist and is a partner at our Beach clinic.  Scott enjoys continuing education in the topics of restorative, endodontics and orthodontics.  He is a certified Invisalign provider.  Scott is also a member of BC-FORT: a team of forensic dentist that assist in the identification of victims of crime and mass disaster.  Scott has a love of BC outdoors, dabbling in numerous outdoor pursuits with his wife, Jo, their young son Zak and their dog, Luna.
