  • Dr. Noor Alzamani’s professional career as a General Dentist started with completing her dental education and achieving a bachelor’s degree in dental surgery with Honours from Baghdad University/Faculty of Dentistry in 2007. Her academic career has been highlighted with an award of excellence and numerous distinctions. After working as a clinical instructor for one year in Iraq, she moved to Vancouver. She earned her degree as a Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of Toronto with significant distinctions in 2014 and she is currently a clinical instructor at the University of British Columbia..

    Dr. Alzamani is committed to keeping up to date with the latest in Dentistry and is passionate about ongoing learning through continuing education. She has participated in several accredited training programs, courses, conferences, and study clubs on a variety of topics, including Oral Surgery, Dental Implants, Root Canal Treatment, Invisalign, Prosthodontics (crowns and bridges), and Cosmetic Dental Care. Dr. Alzamani is a member of the College of Dental Surgeons of BC, the BC Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry, the Spear Education Online education and in-person Study Club, and the Periodontal Surgery Continuum from Theory to Practice Hands-on Study Club.

    Outside of the office, she enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, and going to the gym.

Meet our Dentists

Dr. Gary Bains, Vancouver dentist at Aarm Dental Group on Main, offering patient-centered care and a wide range of dental services such as general, cosmetic, restorative, pediatric, and sedation dentistry.

  • Dr. Bains received his Bachelor of Science degree (B.Sc.) from McGill University in Montreal, Canada. He then went on to complete his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree (D.M.D.) at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada.

    Possessing a passion for lifelong learning and community involvement, Dr Bains was involved in externships, internships, coaching, and community outreach clinics while at university.

    At UBC, he was selected to participate in an oral surgery elective to expand his knowledge and skills. To further that training, Dr. Bains completed hands-on oral surgery externships at Harvard University – Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, and at the University of the Pacific – Highland Hospital in Oakland.

    To provide his patients with comprehensive dental care, utilizing the latest of evidence-based technology, Dr Bains continues his lifelong learning through various post-graduate education programs to further his knowledge and skills in: cosmetic dentistry, Invisalign/orthodontics, extractions, restorative dentistry, root canals, crowns, and bridges.

    Dr Bains believes strongly in educating his patients to empower them with the knowledge they need to make an informed decision about their oral health.

    In his free time, Dr. Bains enjoys being active through sports and trying new places to eat.

Dr. Thilini Nanayakkara, Vancouver dentist at Aarm Dental Group on Main, offering patient-centered care and a wide range of dental services such as general, cosmetic, restorative, pediatric, and sedation dentistry.

  • Dr. Thilini Nanayakkara was born and raised in Wellington, New Zealand. She graduated from the University of Otago with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery in 2017 and moved to Vancouver in 2022. Dr. Thilini is kind, has an open heart, and always treated patients as people first. She will help you towards a life with healthy teeth and gums.

    Her aim is to provide a comfortable and calm experience for everyone, free from judgment. She provides all facets of dental care to her patients, ranging from emergency care to full-mouth restorative dentistry.

    Dr Thilini’s constant drive for clinical excellence sees her attending further education in Restorative Dentistry, Root Canal Treatment, Oral Surgery, Cosmetic Dentistry, and SureSmile clear aligners in New Zealand, Australia, Canada, and the USA.

    She has a keen interest in charity dental treatment and has led dental teams in remote parts of the Philippines and Guatemala providing pro bono restorative and surgical dental services to vulnerable and disadvantaged communities.

    Dr. Thilini is a member of the British Columbia College of Oral Health Professionals, British Columbia Dental Association, the SPEAR Education Online, and the Global Diagnosis Study Club. Outside of dentistry, she enjoys yoga, spending time with her friends, and finding new hiking locations across North America.
