What is Oral Surgery & Periodontal Care?
Oral surgery addresses teeth that need to be removed, whether baby teeth, adult teeth damaged by decay or injury, or wisdom teeth affected by crowding. Impacted wisdom teeth, those without room to fully erupt, can lead to infection or damage to nearby teeth and bone if left untreated.
Periodontal surgery focuses on the health and appearance of your gums. Patients with periodontal pockets deeper than 3mm may need pocket reduction or regenerative procedures to restore gum health. Other treatments, like crown lengthening and gum contouring, reshape the gumline for a more balanced, aesthetic smile.

Gum Grafting
Gum grafting restores gum tissue that's been lost around a tooth, covering exposed roots to protect against decay and tooth loss. It's also used to slow the progression of periodontal disease and strengthen gums for long-term tooth protection.

Wisdom Teeth Removal
Wisdom tooth extraction removes one or more of the four permanent molars at the back of the mouth. These teeth often lack room to erupt properly and can become impacted, leading to infection or other complications that make removal necessary for your health.
What happens during a wisdom tooth removal?
Wisdom tooth extraction is performed under local anesthetic, with a mild sedative available if needed. Our dentists prioritize your comfort throughout the procedure. Afterward, you'll receive care instructions and medication to support a smooth, speedy recovery.
Who's the right candidate?
Wisdom teeth typically emerge in the late teens or early twenties. When they lack room to grow, or become tilted, trapped, or impacted, removal is usually recommended. Left untreated, angled wisdom teeth can push against and damage adjacent teeth, while partially erupted teeth trap food and bacteria, increasing the risk of decay and periodontal disease.
Infections around impacted teeth can spread to the face and jaw, a serious condition requiring urgent care, and cysts may also develop, potentially damaging the jawbone with a small risk of cancer. While most candidates are in their late teens or twenties, unresolved wisdom teeth can cause problems at any age.
We monitor wisdom teeth development through x-rays and recommend removal before complications arise. Early extraction helps patients avoid the pain, infection risk, and potential damage associated with impacted wisdom teeth.
