Location Spotlight: Aarm Dental Group at BC Place
At Aarm Dental Group we always say we are in your neighbourhood to see you smile, at our BC Place location its no exception. Located at 919 Expo Boulevard, Vancouver, right on the Expo Boulevard hub, we’re in the wonderful neighbourhood of Yaletown. Aarm Dental Group at BC Place is owned by Dr. Michael Numerow, a general dentist, and Dr. Lina Jung, a general dentist.
Dr. Michael Numerow graduated from the University of Manitoba Faculty of Dentistry in 1993. He began a fulfilling career in Dauphin, Manitoba located in central Manitoba. After 3 years, he moved to Winnipeg where over the past 12 years he owned and operated two dental practices. After many years of consideration, he finally made the move to Vancouver in the fall of 2007 and loved it!! When not working, he can be found biking, hiking, rock climbing, or just taking in the beauty of the west coast.
Dr. Jung graduated with a Doctorate in Dental Surgery, Honors, from the University of Toronto in 1997, after a degree in Microbiology from UBC, and was awarded top prizes in Oral Medicine and Orthodontics. She then completed the UBC General Practice Residency Program, with advanced training for medically complex patients at VGH, BC Children’s Hospital, and the BC Cancer Agency. In addition to AARM BC Place, she is also the General Consultant for the Department of Oral Oncology/Dentistry at The Cancer Center for the Southern Interior. She has been actively involved with oral cancer research and has actively taught the medical community. She provides a wide spectrum of general services, with a special interest in comprehensive care, TMD, Craniofacial Pain, Oral Medicine, Dental Sleep Medicine, and Orthopaedic Orthodontics.
Dr. Jung currently sits on the licencing body BCCOHP Discipline Committee and for many years past involved with BCDA. She is a Fellow of the American College of Dentistry and teaches case-based learning in Ethics at UBC. She was recently elected as the BCCOHP Board Director in the Dentist/ Dental Therapist seat and starts her three-year term in April 2024.
As being an active member of the community is importance to us, we sat down with Dr. Lina Jung to better learn about her favourite Yaletown places, and favourites aspects of practicing at Aarm Dental Group at BC Place.
Dr. Lina Jung thank you for sitting down with me today. At Aarm Dental Group our tagline is that we’re in your neighbourhood to make you smile. How would you describe the community of Yaletown, Vancouver?
“Our vibrant neighbourhood is abuzz with life and energy! It is on the edge of Yaletown so it has many residents both young and old, singles and families who enjoy the downtown and outdoor life, and only a stone’s throw away from all the major sports and entertainment venues so definitely lively.”
Dr. Jung, what’s your favourite part of practicing at Aarm Dental Group at BC Place?
“That I get to meet all different people from different backgrounds”
Vancouver, like many cities, have unique pockets or neighbourhoods. In your opinion, what makes Yaletown special?
“AARM Dental BC Place is one of the original dental offices in Yaletown along with all the other AARM locations in downtown. We have seen the area grow and evolve, similar to the patients who we come to care for as we have developed strong relationships with them and the community. We are conveniently located at the foot of Cambie St Bridge aka the gateway if not crossroads to not only Yaletown but also the downtown core and Chinatown neighbourhoods. We are only a few minutes to both the Canada Line and Expo Line trains.”
Dr. Jung, after work where can we find you?
“I’ll either be at one of the many great nearby Yaletown restaurants or cafes since I’m a foodie or strolling around the Seawall with my family and dog!”
Is a hard question to anser, but favourite restaurant, coffee shop and bar within the Yaletown area?
“ OEB…everything on their menu- I love brunch! There’s too many good coffee shops nearby to name only one! For coffee: conveniently around the corner is 7 Days Coffee…I usually order lattes or macchiatos and their pastries are some of the lightest, fluffiest around! For bars: D6 at the Parq…it has been the scene of a few after hours team get togethers!”
Dr. Jung, where’s your favourite place to unwind?
“There’s too many activities in downtown and Yaletown to name…Walking the Seawall around the Roundhouse Community Centre is popular with everyone!”
