Location Spotlight: Aarm Dental Group on Beatty.
At Aarm Dental Group we always say we are in your neighbourhood to see you smile, at our Beatty location its no exception. Located at 529 Beatty St, Vancouver; we’re in a wonderful neighbourhood of Crosstown that encompasses and bridges Gastown and Yaletown. Aarm Dental Group on Beatty is owned by Dr. Roya Naseh, a Certified Specialist in Orthodontics, and Dr. Efat Farookhshad, a general dentist.
Dr. Roya Naseh, earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from Mashhad University of Medical Sciences in Iran back in 1997. In 1999, she made her way back to Mashhad University, embarking on an intensive three-year orthodontic residency that she successfully completed in 2002. For a remarkable 15 years, Dr. Roya shared her knowledge as a university professor at Qazvin University of Medical Sciences, serving as Dean Associate in Education, Orthodontic Department Head, and Research Centre Head. In 2018, she took a leap by undertaking a one-year orthodontic gap-training course at the University of Alberta. To top it all off, she aced the Royal College of Dentists of Canada (RCDC) exam in 2019, officially becoming a Certified Specialist in Orthodontics. She’s not just a dentist; she’s a member of a vibrant professional community that shares her commitment to excellence.
Dr. Efat Farrokhshad graduated from Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences with a doctor of dental surgery. She is a Certified Member of the National Dental Examining Board of Canada. She had been working in her own dental clinic in Tehran and she has over 15 years of successful clinical experience in all aspects of general dentistry. She worked in a high-circumstances clinic in Vancouver in a wide spectrum of dental care including veneers(cosmetic), root canal therapy, crown and bridge, denture, surgical extractions, and pediatric dentistry.
As being an active member of the community is importance to us, we sat down with Dr. Efat Farrokhshad to better learn about her favourite Crosstown places, and favourites aspects of practicing at Aarm Dental Group on Beatty.
Dr. Efat Farrokshad, thank you for sitting down with me today. At Aarm Dental Group our tagline is that we’re in your neighbourhood to make you smile. How would you describe the community of gastown and railtown?
“Beatty Street is nestled in the heart of downtown Vancouver, just steps away from the vibrant Gastown and the bustling Rogers Arena. The neighborhood is a perfect blend of urban sophistication and historical charm. You’ll find beautiful heritage buildings alongside modern office spaces and trendy lofts, creating a dynamic environment for both professionals and residents.”
Dr. Farrokshad, what’s your favourite aspect of practicing in Gastown?
“My favourite part of practicing in this neighbourhood is being so close to Canada Place. Watching the cruise ships, enjoying the magnificent view, and seeing people from all over the world.”
Each neighbour in Vancouver is its own. Practicing at Aarm Dental Group on Beatty, and being a part of the Gastown neighbourhood, what makes this community unique?
“The proximity to BC Place and Rogers Arena makes this neighbourhood dynamic and ever-changing. We get to serve a diverse group of people, from professionals working nearby to families and tourists enjoying the nearby attractions. The mix of old and new in Beatty Street gives it a unique character that matches our clinic’s commitment to staying current while maintaining personalized, attentive care.”
One thing I have always loved about Vancouver is that each community is unique, and each has a known staple. For you, what’s the staple?
“The Queen Elizabeth Theatre is undoubtedly a staple in the Beatty Street area. As one of Vancouver’s premier venues for live performances, it’s a hub for theatre, ballet, and opera lovers. The theatre not only enriches the cultural landscape but also brings the community together for unforgettable experiences.”
As Vancouverites, we’re so lucky to be part of a city with such a renowned food scene. What are a couple favourite of your favourite hot spots?
“A standout in the Beatty Street area is Dirty Apron, known for its delicious and high-quality offerings. While Jam Cafe is known for its amazing brunch, it’s also a great spot to grab a coffee.
Dr. Farrokshad, after your day where do you unwind? Is there a favourite place in Gastown you go to relax?
“I love taking a stroll along the Seawall for views of the waterfront. BC Place is a must-see in Vancouver— whether for a Whitecaps or BC Lions game, a concert, or just to experience the city’s energy.”
At Aarm Dental, we consider ourselves part of the community, not just within the community. What is importance us is building that network and giving back to our neighbourhood. Are there any organizations or centres that are near and dear to you?
“I really enjoy the fitness and wellness programs at the community centre—they bring people of all ages together and help promote healthy living.”
