Our Story

Aarm Dental Group was founded in 1985 by Dr. Jim Armstrong, a proud graduate of the University of British Columbia’s Faculty of Dentistry. A passionate outdoorsman, Jim is an avid fisherman, skier, and mountain biker—but above all, he is devoted to his family. His vision for Aarm was clear from the beginning: to create a collaborative group of like-minded dental professionals committed to private practice, while maintaining an “academic orientation” through lifelong learning and continuing education.

From its humble beginnings with a single clinic in Vancouver, Aarm Dental Group has steadily grown to include ten locations and a team of 22 dedicated doctors, serving communities from Downtown Vancouver to Whistler Village.

A defining aspect of Aarm’s philosophy is the emphasis on continual professional development. Many of Aarm’s partners are not only seasoned clinicians but also educators, actively involved in teaching at dental schools and speaking at national and international dental conferences. This commitment to education ensures that our team remains at the forefront of clinical excellence and innovation.
